Retirees Christmas Luncheon

This week I had a fun experience at work. I went to the Retirees Christmas Luncheon. I wish three years with the company allowed for retirement, but no hope there. I am writing an article for our annual employee newsletter on the luncheon.

A highlight of the program was to hear Max DePree tell the millwright story. I’ve heard the story many, many times in the three years and three months I’ve been with Herman Miller, but to hear the company founder’s son tell the story was really moving for me. After lunch I introduced myself to him.

Another highlight for me was getting to meet Dick Ruch, a former CEO of the company.
