Thankful Thursday 6/19/14

1. A wonderful, wonderful trip to SC for Father's Day Weekend.
2. Eventually getting there safely after boarding three planes, two of which had "maintenance issues."
3. Parents who are willing to be at the airport at 2:00 a.m. to pick me up.
4. Getting to see two siblings, two in-laws, and four nieces and nephews.
5. Finding blackberry bushes on a Sunday evening walk with my mother. We went back and picked eight cups. She made a batch of blackberry jelly on Monday.
6. The local berry farm still had fresh strawberries. I got my first fresh strawberries of the season Monday morning. The ones in the grocery store don't come close!!!
7. New job is going well for what I'm doing of it. It's very, very busy trying to do my old job until it is filled while learning the new job.
8. Got in the pool last night for awhile after a hot day. It makes sleeping so nice.

Thankful Thursday 6/12/14

1. Tomorrow I get to see my parents and two of three siblings over the weekend!!!

2. First week on the new job is very busy with trying to do my old job until it is filled, learning/taking on the new position tasks, and having two atypical projects going on.

3. The pool feels wonderful!!!

4. I had three nieces graduate from college this spring--one is doing an internship at an boutique PR firm, one is headed to med school, and one just got a teaching job this week.

5. Big plans but can't say now.

Thank you God for all you give me.

Thankful Thursday 6/5/14

1. Thankful that 23 years ago my first niece was born. Mary Lee has been a joy and light. Her eyes sparkle. There are going to be some very fortunate children that have her for a teacher!!!

2. Thankful that on Mary Lee's 23rd birthday I signed an offer letter for a promotion at work.

3. Thankful that for the first time in 10 years I will be in a position that will use the abilities and interests God has given me most fully.

4. Thankful that for the last 10 years (well except for 6 months last year) God has given me gainful employment that has met my needs and many of my wants.

5. Thankful that for those six months I had unemployment and many family and friends looking out for me.

6. Thankful that today I remember Irma, a wonderful lady who mentored me in my first two years out of college. I lived in her and her husband's basement. She often encouraged me in my first two years of teaching.
