That's a good answer that several people at work said, but the official correct answer is . . . alphabet.
I challenge that answer as the alphabet is a finite number of letters (depending on the alphabet); whereas a mailbox can contain unlimited letters! I can put more than 26 letters in my mailbox!

Is that bells as in handbells or bells as in bells in a belfry that get rung from long ropes?The official answer, alphabet, stands although I would accept mailbox.
