Roll, Stones, Roll!!!

Last year in Egypt we had a lesson near two walls. One was made of bricks and one was made of stones. The general idea was the bricks are made in quantity, all the same size and shape. The wall is very uniform because every brick is uniform. Stones are unique--shaped by a Creator to be one of a kind. A stone wall has character as the various stones give the wall a distinct look. We were challenged to be stones instead of bricks.

This has been relayed to me from another person on the trip so I don't know first hand of its truth.

One of the men on the trip was sharing this on a plane with his seatmate on one of his many business trips. The seatmate is a motivational speaker. His number one client is Nick Saban, head football coach at the University of Alabama. So what is the theme of the 2012 Alabama football team?

Be a stone not a brick.

This morning on a sports show I heard an interview with Saban who said this year's team has not won a national championship. Some of the players were on last year's national championship but this year's team hasn't proven anything. They aren't the same team. What did I hear--a football program is made of stones from each year's team. A program doesn't produce bricks.

ROLL, TIDE, ROLL!!!
