Prayer for the Job Seeker

I haven't said much about my job search. Sometimes it's just too overwhelming, sometimes there is just nothing to say, but mostly I don't tell people because if I don't get something I don't like telling people that. In addition to the negativity of not being chosen it's additionally degrading to have to tell multiple people that I didn't get it.

Most people have had the right mix of knowing when to ask about the job search to show concern and care but not be overbearing.

Yesterday someone dear to me asked about the job hunt so I told her that I had a second interview today. Mid-day she sent a text saying she was praying which is very encouraging. Then she added this to her message:

Well. . .praying you dress right. Look right. Talk right. Sit right. Impress the right people. And THEN praying that we believe that none of that matters and that the job outcome will be a gift of God's will. . . yes if it's the right job for you or no if it would be a thorn in your life. Yes if the thorn would be meant to stretch and grow you. No if it would end up bringing out the worst in you.  So in the end just praying for you to do your best and then God's will be done!

Yes, yes, and yes. How perfect.

Hi there - I am a radio presenter at a Christian radio station in Cape Town South Africa. Just today, I did a interview for a program called Turning Point, where people testify about how God intervened in their lives at a given moment. She came in today to share with our listeners how she and her husband both lost their jobs within a week of each other. With two little girls in the house and all other expenses, it was a devestating time for them. Moreover, they had just 2 months earlier decided to tithe. She drove down to the beach to cry and vent her anger towards life and, yes, God. She heard the small still voice saying, don't despair, just trust me. It was difficult for her, but she shared this with her husband. They decided at the end of that month to still tithe regardless of their circumstances. She did the EFT that night feeling very insecure, but on her husband's insistance she went ahead and paid the money over. That same night, her husband called her excitedly. His company had decided to pay him 4 month's salary, and to keep them on medical aid for another 6 months. Four days later, she received a call from her work to say they had decided to deploy her to another part of the company as manager of a department. Today, a year later, they have a bank account unlike any in the 10 years of their married life. So please, don't despair. God works in ways we do not understand. Your unanswered prayer is busy drawing interest. God bless you! Lorrein ps: I am at www.focusonlifeza.blogspot.com
